Cleaning the Natural Way - Kitchen & Bathroom, $45pp

At this workshop, you will learn safe and effective ways to clean your kitchen and bathroom using DIY alternatives to supermarket-bought cleaning products which often contain harmful chemicals.  Participants will make their own chemical-free surface spray and dishwasher tablets to take home.  You’ll also learn natural ways to unblock drains, clean ovens and saucepans, glass/mirrors, toilets, showers and tiles, and how to keep your fridge odour-free.

Your presenter will demonstrate and provide information on:

• natural ingredients you can use including bi-carb, vinegar, lemon, essential oils, washing soda, plant-based soaps, salt

• how and when to use them in your kitchen

• recipe sheets - so you can make your own at home

So come along and learn about cleaning the natural way and save $$$

 

 

Pasta & Gnocchi Making (BOOKED OUT)

Join us for this hands-on pasta-making workshop where MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara, will show you step-by-step how to hand-make traditional Italian pasta and gnocchi at home. Discover the difference in freshness and texture between shop-bought dried pasta and home-made fresh pasta and gnocchi.

In this workshop, participants:
* will make their own pasta dough and learn how to gather their dough,
* will learn how to stretch the dough and make different shapes including ravioli, fettucine and potato gnocchi

Have fun with other participants learning how to master the technique of pasta-making and then sample the results of your work with freshly made Napolitano sauce.  You'll also take home some of your pasta for your family to enjoy.

A Taste of Thai, $85pp (BOOKED OUT)

This workshop is a great introduction to everything you need to know to cook Thai food.  Join us for the small group, hands-on cooking workshop where you will explore the amazing flavours and fragrances of Thai cooking.  Find out how to use fresh chillies, lime, mint, coriander, lemongrass, ginger and coconut to conjure up delicious Thai dishes to eat at home.

All participants will make their own curry paste and a coconut-based curry.   You’ll also make a spicy laksa soup and for dessert, coconut pancakes with seasonal fruit.  Learn about about grocery items you can find at an Asian supermarket, the difference between yellow, green and red Thai curry paste and how you can incorporate them into your home cooking.  Enjoy meeting new people as you create and savour your Thai dishes.

Mediterranean Feasting, $85pp (BOOKED OUT)

Explore the less well-known cuisines around the Mediterranean.  In this hands-on, cooking workshop we will explore cooking traditions in Malta, Croatia and Cyprus.  Our Chef will talk about ingredients in each region and where you can source them.  Participants will then prepare three delicious Mediterranean dishes to take home including a entree, main and dessert. You’ll also sample a number of other dishes with your afternoon tea.

So get creative and learn new cooking skills and cultural traditions!

If you love cheese and want to learn how to make it at home, then come to this course! Learn the basics of home cheese making with MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara. You’ll learn how to make ricotta, mascarpone, quark, lemon & cream cheese and labneh, and the many uses for leftover whey. Participants will make two soft cheeses to take home and there’ll also be a range of other delicious cheeses to try on the day. Participants will also take home samples of other cheeses made on the day.  $95pp Max 8 ppl

 

Lasagna & Cannoli Making, $85pp (BOOKED OUT)

In this specialist pasta workshop, MCSL Chef, Gerry Barbara, will show you step-by-step how to make lasagne & cannoli at home.  Lasagna is possibly the most loved family dish of all!  This is a practical, hands-on workshop so be prepared to cook! Participants will make their own pasta dough to make lasagna sheets and cannoli shells.  You’ll also make a cheesy, creamy bechamel sauce and a rich meat sauce to construct your lasagna.  For dessert, cannoli with a sweet, cheesy filling.

Enjoy cooking with other participants and sample the results of your work.  You’ll also take home some of your dishes for your family to enjoy.
